Hi,

If You have a super beetle with IRS rear end with 4 CV Joints, then its fairly simple....

and lowering an IRS does not affect the negative camber of the wheels

Although I haven't lowered the rear of My beetle.... with IRS..

My Son has done a few beetles early and late...

Swing Axle and IRS axles....

The Round torsion bar suspension plates need to be removed, and there are inner and outer splines which need to be changed..

the splines are also fine and coarse...

so You can usually adjust them to whatever level You like...

I'll see if I can find some detailed instructions for you..

and maybe a photo....

cheers

Hi Dereke

What year model beetle do You have??

My Son has a 1956 beetle with widened fenders and wide wheels etc
He wants to lower it more than it is, so He has to use 6 rear swing plates to make adjustable swing axles...
If He continues to lower the rear end, without making up adjustable
swing plates, the tires will wear out, as they won't be running true...
and the tires will feather, wear do to incorrect tire angle..
ie.. out of alignment...

IRS rear axles [with 4 boots] shouldn't have major negative camber
problems....

cheers

Hi again,

I see You do have IRS rear end...
Many VW owners in Australia have EXTREME Negative camber lowered
rear suspensions....
Most swing axles, but some IRS too...
as Negative camber is Good for better cornering etc..
